Fitter Machinist

Landaco has two positions available as a Fitter/Machinist.

1.       We are currently seeking a qualified or 3rd/4th year apprentice to join our team in manufacturing fertiliser spreaders. They would be required to do the following duties in the description below.

2.       An apprenticeship for a Fitter/Machinist has also become available  which would suit current school leavers; please refer to the following description for requirements of all applicants.

JOB DESCRIPTION

 Requirements

·  an interest in technical work

·  ability to demonstrate competency in general machining, lath work,  milling etc

·  physical fitness

·  strength to handle materials, tools and machines

·  good hand-eye coordination

·  attention to detail

·   ability to work collaboratively as part of a  team

·   must be reliable and well presented

·   have a strong background in mathematics

Duties include

·   In-house machining of components including:

         Shafts

         Keyways

        Sprockets

        Couplings

        Tensioners

·  Hydraulics assembly

·  Manufacturing prototypes

·  Assisting with miscellaneous assembling as required

·  Machinery Maintenance

·  General Duties

·  Keeping a clean and safe working environment

Working Conditions

The mechanical engineer (fitter and machinist) will work in a workshop/assembly area that can be noisy, hot and dusty. They may spend most of their day standing and often need to bend, crouch or climb.

A mechanical engineer (fitter and machinist) must be aware of safety regulations and will be required to wear protective equipment depending on the work environment.

Apprenticeship Duration (for position #2)

A full-time mechanical engineer (fitter and machinist) apprenticeship takes three-and-a-half years, however under the competency based system; apprentices may be able to qualify sooner if they can show they have the skills to do the job

Hours:

Monday to Friday - 8am to 5pm (38 hour week)

Spray Painter

• Industrial Spray Painter
• Senior Apprent. will be considered
• Prep & App of prime and finish coatings on Ag Machinery

 Must be able to work part of a team, applicants need to be organised, focused and able to meet deadlines.
